Portrait of Methuselah April Fool’s

A previously unknown, circa-1800s painting of Methuselah — considered the world’s oldest aquarium fish — has been discovered in the Academy archives. But while the portrait may shed light on her mysterious origins, for now it’s raising more questions than it answers.

As an April Fool’s joke, the Academy put out a video parody of the The Portrait of Dorian Gray featuring Methuselah the Australian lungfish, who happens to be the world’s oldest aquarium fish. I was in charge of the final scripting and cowrote the dialogue with my teammates as well as the editing and voiceover narration on the video.

The video did well on both TikTok and Instagram, garnering over 70k views combined.
